The Duomo dates back to 1300 and is the best example of Gothic-Lombard architecture. This impressive religious building occupies around 12,000 square meters and is decorated with more than 3500 statues. Next to the Duomo is the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.

A majestic building which with its mass dominates the historic center of Milan, Castello Sforzesco contains various museums, wonderful Gothic-Renaissance courtyards and spectacular rooms, designed by Leonardo Da Vinci and frescoed by Bramante. Behind the Castello stretches the beautiful Parco Sempione, an oasis in the heart of Milan.

This is an important Renaissance work built in the second half of the fifteenth century. Famous for its apse and marble door attributed to Bramante as well as the last supper by Leonardo Da Vinci, one of the most famous works of art of all time.

The Teatro alla Scala was founded, under the auspices of the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, to replace the Royal Ducal Theatre, which was destroyed by fire on 26 February 1776 and had until then been the home of opera in Milan. The cost of building the new theatre was borne by the owners of the boxes at the Ducal, in exchange for possession of the land on which stood the church of Santa Maria alla Scala (hence the name) and for renewed ownership of their boxes.

The area where Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese run is one of the prettiest spots of Milan: The Navigli are flanked with old characteristic "case di ringhiera" (typical houses with open balcony), antique shops, and above all loads of cafes, restaurants and historic bars where live music is played and the banks are filled with people from April to September.

The Giuseppe Meazza, better known as San Siro Stadium is the football stadium of the Milan city, as well as the Italian largest football stadium and one of the most famous and prestigious in Europe (nicknamed “La Scala del Calcio”). The stadium over the years has been the site of performances by the biggest groups in rock history, as Rolling Stones, U2 and Laura Pausini.
